Experience
Our experience in dealing with the nuances of unique armor components as required by the U.S. Military has honed our skills and positioned Ultra Armoring & Defense as the complete armoring source.

Ballistic Protection / Blast Protection
Ultra Armoring & Defense provides ballistic solutions to protect against threats including CEN, NIJ, and STANAG protection levels. UAD can help decide a protection level given the vehicle type and environmental exposure.

Armor Capsule

Armor Capsule

UAD’s goal is to manufacture the safest solutions to keep our war fighters safe. We do this by using the best strategies in design and production. To reduce weld joints which weaken armor, large sections of armor are used. UAD’s large format laser cutters allow for larger core panels. Larger parts means fewer welds which ultimately results in better protection. The protection solution is a culmination of experience and testing found at UAD. Grafting the armor solution provides a clean look and feel to the vehicle. Tactical and OEM style interiors are available.

FARO Arm In Use

FARO Arm In Use

SolidWorks
UAD uses SolidWorks to model vehicles and components to prove out concepts prior to production. SolidWorks enables the customer to “see” what they are getting prior to start of work (i.e. during the design phase).

3D Modeling
As part of Ultra Armoring & Defense’s rigorous routine of measurement and design, digital data is transferred to our expert staff of CAD designers. Custom armor patterns are then digitally built into a 3D model.

FARO Arm
Using state-of-the-art technology, our technicians replicate the vehicle interior. A highly precise FARO arm develops and exact digital blueprint of each shape, panel and bend.

FEA Capabilities

FEA Capabilities

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used when we need to prove strength of systems and how it relates to vehicle integration. FEA utilizes small elements and mathematically models the behavior of a design based on the load scenario. UAD Engineers will first calculate loads and stresses by hand and follow with proof and better resolution offered by FEA. We also use Blast Simulation when that type of test is required to properly complete the design phase.
